A
service was held on October 29, 2014 for Ruth Carol Ringold at the
Clarksburg Church of Christ. In attendance were approximately 150
friends and relatives of Billy and Ruth Carol, including Billy and Ruth
Carol's children Billy Dean, Nona Carol and Mark Anthony and their
children and grandchildren, as well as Ruth Carol's two brothers, both of whom spoke in
memory of Ruth Carol at the

service.
It was a beautiful service, with many kind and thoughtful remarks said
of Ruth Carol and how much she meant to those with whom she came in
contact. The chapel was full of flowers sent by well-wishers, and
in addition to the sadness at her passing there was a great deal of
fondness in remembrance of her.

Afterward,
a procession made its way to Blair Cemetery, and a final service took
place at graveside, where Ruth Carol was laid to rest among many family
members who had preceeded her. Many chose to attend this part of
the day's observance. Located out in the countryside on the
Clarksburg-
Westport
road, Blair is a peaceful, serene and almost idyllic setting, where
generations of family members are gathered together in quiet solitude,
apart from the bustle of modern life. Every visit there is a
reminder of the blessing of family and continuity.

Finally,
all returned to the church for a bountiful dinner feast, prepared by the
ladies of the congregation. There was so much good food that the
biggest difficulty was deciding what to pile up on one's plate and what
to pass by! It was a fitting way to end a day of commemoration,
remembrance, family, community, congregation and fellowship -- a
tradition of community and faith that endures through times both happy
and sad.
